Earning Virtues
Virtues in RTK terms are the skills a member earns towards their rank and other miscellaneous things around the forums. This guide will tell you how those Virtues contribute to your ranks in RTK and a bit of how you may earn them in role play. See the "Participation" topic to learn how Virtues are earned outside the role play.
Each rank has a few major skills a members needs to excel in, in order to earn their desired rank. Rank points are determined by whole number or half-numbers. Ex: 50, 200, 25 etc.(WQ rank progress is determined by percentage of all skills needed for your rank in total.)
The number of Virtue points a members earns will always vary(meaning multiple amounts of virtue points can be given to you at anytime) when earning your rank based on the success of your training.
Training Levels
Trainng consists of three levels: Beginners, Intermediates and Masters. Each level has a task suited to that type of skill level and fitted to the rank your character will be earning. Members are to start off as Beginners then work their way up. The catch is if you exceed in three of more skills to earn your rank(Meaning you've reached the highest number of skills points in a certain skill at an outstanding rate) then your character may skip the intermediate level and move on to Masters.
EXAMPLE: Let's say you are a Squire training to be a Knight. knights need high skills in Honor, Bravery, Truthfulness, Discipline, Battle and Knowledge. If you are able to reach the maximum number of points in three of those skills, your character skips the intermediate level and moves straight up to Masters.
There are several way to earn Virtue Points throughout RTK, but each Training level has it's advantages and disadvantages. Beginners level Virtues are obtained through Participation and Task Success. Intermediate skill points are obtained through Skill points and only half of the skills are obtained through Participation. Masters are only obtained via task success, hence the "Master" expectations which indicates challenges.
**Members may view their Virtue success levels via their "Virtue Logs" in the Character Creation forum.
Below, you will find what ranks need certain virtues as well as the extra virtues your character may obtain if they so wish. A number will be placed beside each virtue which indicates the minimal number of virtue points you need to become that rank, but you may exceed them if you want to.
